Agricultural producer prices rose by 14.6% in March compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. The price increase of live animals and animal products (4.2%) was far lower than the price rise of crop products (20.5%). Compared with the significant, 16.7% price rise of agricultural producer prices input prices increased by only 6.7% in the first quarter of the year.

Agricultural producer prices rose by 17.0% in February compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. The price increase of live animals and animal products continued to be lower (6.5%), while the price rise of crop products exceeded 20%. The producer price of potatoes was twice as high as one year before, while the price of sunflower seeds – due to the 23.2% increase – reached a record high.

In January, agricultural producer prices rose by 18.1% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. According to the trend observed this month again, the price increase of live animals and animal products (7.4%) was lower than the price rise of crop products (24.2%). The development of producer prices was influenced basically by the considerable (88.7%) rise of potatoes prices and the price increase of cereals (32.5%), representing a large share.

In December, agricultural producer prices rose by 18.1% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Within this the price of both crop products (26.1%) and live animals and animal products (4.5%) increased. In the previous year producer prices rose by 15.4%, while the input price level of agricultural production exceeded to a lower extent (by 6.8% on average) that recorded one year earlier.

In November the price of crop products (25.0%) as well as live animals and animal products (7.5%) increased. Among these products the producer price of potatoes grew remarkably, by 87.6%. Agricultural producer prices rose by 18.5% on the whole compared to the same period of the previous year. The aggregate price increase in January–November was lower, 15.4% on average.

In October the price of crop products (33.1%) as well as live animals and animal products (9.6%) increased. Agricultural producer prices rose by 24.4% on the whole compared to the same period of the previous year. The price increase in January–October was 14.3% on average.

In September the producer price level of agricultural products was up by 20.7% compared to the same period of the previous year, so the total price increase in January–September was 10.9%. In the same period, the input price level of agricultural production was 5.6% higher than in the first nine months of the previous year.

In August the price of crops and horticultural products (22.1%) and that of live animals and animal products (10.4%) both increased by two digits. In total agricultural producer prices rose by 18.1% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Even the harvest could not lower cereals prices, which rose by 24.2% on average.

Following the price changes in the previous months the producer price level of agricultural products was 4.5% lower in February than one year earlier. The producer price of the crop output decreased by 11.6%, while that of live animals and animal products was 13.1% higher than in February 2011. However, within the latter product group the price of live animals stagnated compared to the previous month.

Producers were paid 4.7% more for the crop output, and 20.2% more for live animals and animal products. The former product group showed a declining tendency during this year, while the latter an increasing tendency since the second half of this year.

Producers were paid 8.7% more for the crop output, and 17.3% more for live animals and animal products. Over 2011 the rate of price rise slowed down, which was mainly caused by the decelerating price rise of crop products.

The producer price of the crop output rose by 12.0%, while that of live animals and animal products by 15.9%. The producer price of cereals increased by 14.7% in October 2011 compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

More specifically, the price level of crops and horticultural products and that of live animals and animal products went up at similar rates. While price changes in the latter product group followed the trend for the previous months, in case of crop products - mainly due to higher yields than in the previous year - the rate of price rise declined significantly.
