Construction output volume increased by 27.3% in November
The volume of construction output, based on raw data, was 27.3% higher in November 2018 than a year earlier. Output increased in both main groups of construction: in the construction of buildings by 17.8% and in civil engineering works by 40.2%. Based on seasonally and working day adjusted indices construction output increased by 4.4% compared to the previous month.
In November 2018, compared to the same month of the previous year:
The volume of output increased in both main groups of construction: in the construction of buildings by 17.8% and in civil engineering works by 40.2%. In the construction of buildings the increase was due to industrial, commercial and dwelling constructions; in civil engineering projects road, railway and utility constructions continued to generate the growth.
Out of the divisions of construction, output increased by 26.5% in the construction of buildings, by 54.5% in civil engineering, and in specialised construction activities by 12.8%.
The volume of new contracts increased by 30.4%; within this the volume of new contracts concluded in the construction of buildings went up by 14.0%, in the construction of civil engineering works the volume increased by 45.6% year-on-year. In November contracts of high value were singed for industrial bildings as well as for road and railway constructions.
The volume of the November month-end stock of contracts at construction enterprises increased by 37.9% year-on-year. The stock of contracts volume decreased by 4.0% for the construction of buildings and increased by 51.6% for the construction of civil engineering works compared to the November 2017 data.
In January-November 2018 compared to the same period of the previous year:
Construction production rose by 22.9%.
