Construction output volume increased by 48.0% in February
The volume of construction output, based on raw data, was 48.0% higher in February 2019 than a year earlier. The volume of output increased in both main groups of construction: in the construction of buildings by 39.4% and in civil engineering works by 65.4%. Based on seasonally and working day adjusted indices, construction output increased by 6.7% compared to the previous month.

The volume of output increased in both main groups of construction: in the construction of buildings by 39.4% and in civil engineering works by 65.4%. In the construction of buildings, the increase was due to industrial, residential and office buildings; in civil engineering projects, road and railway constructions continued to generate the growth.
Out of the divisions of construction, output volume increased by 43.3% in the construction of buildings, by 111.8% in civil engineering, and in specialised construction activities by 31.8%.
The volume of new contracts increased by 22.1%, within this the volume of new contracts concluded in the construction of buildings went up by 178.3%, in the construction of civil engineering works the volume declined by 40.8% year-on-year. Among buildings, contracts of high value were signed for industrial, cultural and sport facilities.
The volume of the February month-end stock of contracts at construction enterprises increased by 2.6% year-on-year. The stock of contracts volume increased by 53.2% for the construction of buildings and went down by 10.6% for the construction of civil engineering works compared to the end of February 2018.
In the first two months of the year, compared to the same period of the previous year:
