Prices up by 2.5%

Consumer prices were 2.5% higher on average in November 2017 than this time last year. The highest price increases over the past year were measured for alcoholic beverages and tobacco as well as food.

In November 2017 compared to November 2016:

Food prices rose by 3.4%, within which eggs became 23%, butter 15.4%, milk products 9.6%, bread 7.5%, other meat preparations 7.3%, cheese 7.1% and pork 4.1% more expensive. The price of poultry meat was cut by 13.1% and that of sugar by 8.5%. The highest price rise of 7.1% on average was recorded for alcoholic beverages and tobacco. The price of other goods (pharmaceutical products, motor fuels, household products and recreational goods) was up by 2.9% on average, within which that of motor fuels by 5.9%. The prices of electricity, gas and other fuels became 1.5%, within which the price of firewood 12.3% higher, while the prices of electricity, natural and manufactured gas and purchased heat were unchanged. Consumers paid 1.0% more for services, 0.5% more for clothing and footwear and 0.2% less for consumer durables.

In November 2017 compared to October 2017:

Consumer prices increased by 0.4% on average. Food prices rose by 0.5%, within which eggs became 18.6%, fresh vegetables 3.7% and other meat preparations 1.9% more expensive, while sugar cost 6.1%, fresh domestic and tropical fruits 3.6% and edible oil 1.4% less for consumers. Out of the main groups of consumption the highest, 1.7% price increase was recorded for other goods, within which 3.3% for motor fuels. Clothing and footwear prices went up by 1.0%, while alcoholic beverages and tobacco prices by 0.5% on average. Electricity, gas and other fuels became 0.2%, within which butane and propane gas 1.7% and firewood 1.6% more expensive. The price of consumer durables was lowered by 0.3% and that of services by 0.5%, and within the latter recreational services cost 4.7% and communication services 1.3% less for consumers.

In January–November 2017 compared to the same period of the previous year:

Consumer prices rose by 2.4% on average.
