Economic performance grows by 1.6%

The gross domestic product of Hungary was up by 1.6% in the 4th quarter of 2016 compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. The main contributors to the growth were market services and agriculture. The performance of industry stagnated and construction went on lowering the increase. In 2016, GDP rose by 2.0%.

Compared to the previous quarter the volume of gross domestic product grew by 0.4% – according to seasonally and calendar adjusted data – in the 4th quarter of 2016.

Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year the volume of gross domestic product increased by 1.5% according to seasonally and calendar adjusted and reconciled data.
