Industrial production increased by 5.4%
In December 2018, the volume of industrial output grew by 5.4% year-on-year. Based on working-day adjusted data production rose by 5.7%.
The majority of manufacturing subsections contributed to the increase. The manufacture of transport equipment representing the largest weight grew at a higher rate than in the previous month. The manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products went up significantly, while the manufacture of food products, beverages and tobacco rose to a lesser degree than a year earlier.
In 2018, the volume of production was 3.6% higher compared to 2017.
Industrial output in December – according to seasonally and working-day adjusted indices – was 2.5% above the level of the previous month.
