Industrial production increased by 8.0%

In March 2019 the volume of industrial output grew by 8.0% year-on-year. The working day adjusted index was equal to the non-adjusted one.

The majority of manufacturing subsections contributed to the increase. The rate of growth accelerated in the largest weight representing manufacture of transport equipment, while slackened a bit in that of computer, electronic and optical products. The manufacture of food products, beverages and tobacco rose at a below industrial average rate.

Output was 6.2% higher in the first three months of this year than in the same period of the previous year.

Industrial output in March – according to seasonally and working-day adjusted indices – was 1.0% above the level of the previous month.
