Industrial production increased by 8.7%

In May 2019 the volume of industrial output grew by 8.7% year-on-year. Based on working-day adjusted data production rose by 6.1%.

The great majority of manufacturing subsections contributed to the increase. The rate of growth accelerated in the largest weight representing manufacture of transport equipment, while the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products as well as the manufacture of food products, beverages and tobacco rose at a rate below the industrial average.

Output was 6.7% higher in the first five months of this year than in the same period of the previous year.

Industrial output in May – according to seasonally and working-day adjusted indices – was 1.4% above the level of the previous month.
