Industrial production increased by 0.3%

In August 2019 the volume of industrial output grew by 0.3% year-on-year. Based on working-day adjusted data production rose by 2.7%.

The rate of growth slackened significantly in the largest weight representing manufacture of transport equipment, while it slightly accelerated in the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products. The manufacture of food products, beverages and tobacco decreased.

Output was 5.6% higher in the first eight months of this year than in the same period of the previous year.

Industrial output in August – according to seasonally and working-day adjusted indices – was 1.2% below the level of the previous month.
