Average gross earnings amounted to HUF 344,700
In February 2019, average gross earnings amounted to HUF 345,900, 12.1% higher than a year earlier. In January-February 2019, average gross earnings amounted to HUF 344,700 and average net earnings to HUF 229,200; both of them grew by 11.4% compared to the same period of the previous year.
In February 2019:
Full-time employees’ average gross nominal earnings – as defined by the Hungarian Central Statistical Office – at corporations employing at least 5 persons, budgetary institutions and non-profit organisations, which are significant in respect of employment, amounted to HUF 345,900 and to HUF 356,600 excluding fostered workers.
Average net earnings were HUF 230,000 excluding tax benefits and HUF 237,300 including them.
Both gross and net earnings grew to the same extent by 12.1%, compared to the same period of the previous year.
In January–February 2019:
Full-time employees’ average gross nominal earnings – as defined by the Hungarian Statistical Office – at corporations employing at least 5 persons, budgetary institutions and non-profit organizations which are significant in respect of employment, amounted to HUF 344,700 and to HUF 355,400 excluding fostered workers.
Average net earnings were HUF 229,200 excluding tax benefits, and HUF 236,400 including them.
Both gross earnings and net earnings without tax benefits grew by 11.4%, while average net earnings including tax benefits by 11.5% compared to the same period last year.
Average gross earnings were the highest in financial and insurance activities (HUF 612,900) and the lowest (HUF 229,500) in human health and social work activities employing the majority of fostered workers. Excluding the data of fostered workers, average gross earnings amounted to HUF 298,300 in human health and social work activities.
Full-time employees’ average gross earnings amounted to HUF 376,900 for men and to HUF 313,000 for women, representing increases of 12.1% and 10.2%, respectively over one year.
Average gross earnings of full time employees under the age of 25 reached HUF 265,800, were HUF 358,500 for those between 25–54 years of age and HUF 336,300 for those above 54 years. The year-on-year growth of earnings in the above age groups was 17.8%, 11.6% and 10.5% respectively.
Regular gross earnings (gross earnings without premiums and one-month bonuses) amounted to HUF 328,100, 11.6% higher than a year earlier.
Along with the 2.9% rise in consumer prices compared to the same period of the previous year, real earnings increased by 8.3%.
