Average gross earnings amounted to HUF 356,900
In April 2019, average gross earnings amounted to HUF 371,100, 9.0% higher than a year earlier. In January-April 2019, average gross earnings amounted to HUF 356,900 and average net earnings to HUF 237,300; both of them grew by 10.4% compared to the same period of the previous year.
In April 2019:
Full-time employees’ average gross nominal earnings – as defined by the Hungarian Central Statistical Office – at corporations employing at least 5 persons, budgetary institutions and non-profit organisations, which are significant in respect of employment, amounted to HUF 371,100 and to HUF 381,700 excluding fostered workers.
Average net earnings were HUF 246,800 excluding tax benefits and HUF 254,300 including them.
Both gross earnings and net earnings excluding tax benefits grew by 9.0%, while net earnings including tax benefits rose by 9.1% compared to the same period of the previous year.
In January–April 2019:
Full-time employees’ average gross nominal earnings – as defined by the Hungarian Statistical Office – at corporations employing at least 5 persons, budgetary institutions and non-profit organizations which are significant in respect of employment, amounted to HUF 356,900 and to HUF 367,400 excluding fostered workers.
Average net earnings were HUF 237,300 excluding tax benefits, and HUF 244,700 including them.
Both gross earnings and net earnings excluding tax benefits grew by 10.4%, while net earnings including tax benefits rose by 10.5% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Average gross earnings were the highest in financial and insurance activities (HUF 671,600) and the lowest (HUF 234,000) in human health and social work activities employing the majority of fostered workers. Excluding the data of fostered workers, average gross earnings amounted to HUF 300,900 in human health and social work activities.
Full-time employees’ average gross earnings amounted to HUF 391,400 for men and to HUF 322,900 for women, representing increases of 11.3% and 9.2%, respectively over one year.
Average gross earnings of full time employees under the age of 25 reached HUF 272,300, were HUF 372,100 for those between 25–54 years of age and HUF 346,800 for those above 54 years. The year-on-year growth of earnings in the above age groups was 17.2%, 10.6% and 10.0% respectively.
Regular gross earnings (gross earnings without premiums and one-month bonuses) amounted to HUF 330,200, 10.4% higher than a year earlier.
Along with the 3.4% rise in consumer prices compared to the same period of the previous year, real earnings increased by 6.8%.
