Trade surplus amounted to EUR 908 million in November

In EUR terms, exports increased by 5.8% and imports by 4.6% in November 2016 compared to the same period of the previous year. The trade surplus was up by EUR 130 million. In the first eleven months of the year, the EUR value of exports and imports grew by 2.7% and 1.0%, respectively.

In November 2016

the value of exports amounted to EUR 8.6 billion (HUF 2,646 billion) and that of imports to EUR 7.7 billion (HUF 2,366 billion);

the trade surplus was EUR 908 million (HUF 280 billion);

the share of European Union member states was 80% in exports and 77% in imports.

In January–November 2016

the value of exports was EUR 86.0 billion (HUF 26,778 billion), that of imports equalled EUR 76.5 billion (HUF 23,834 billion) and the trade surplus was EUR 9.5 billion (HUF 2,944 billion).

In January–November 2016 compared to a year earlier

exports and imports were up by 2.7% and 1.0%, respectively, in EUR terms;

the trade surplus grew by EUR 1.5 billion.

* The differences between indices in different currencies were due to the exchange rate effect: in November 2016 the forint appreciated by 1.1% against the euro and by 1.6% against the dollar, while in January–November 2016 it depreciated by 0.6% against the euro as well as the dollar compared to the same period of the previous year.
