Agricultural producer prices down by 2.0%

Agricultural producer prices were down by 2.0% in February 2017 compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, which was made up of a 7.3% decrease in the prices of crop products and an 8.2% rise in the prices of live animals and animal products.

In February 2017 compared to February 2016:

Cereals prices were cut by 10%.

The prices of fruits lessened by 2.3%, those of vegetables by 3.9% and the price of potatoes by 4.5%.

The producer price level of live animals rose by 7.7% and that of animal products by 9.4%.

The price of pigs for slaughter was up by 20%.

The price of poultry for slaughter increased by 1.7%, within which the price of chickens for slaughter by 1.2%, that of geese for slaughter by 9.7% and the price of ducks for slaughter by 5.5%. The procurement of the latter two products did not reach even the than half of the volume in the same period of the previous year, due to a shortage caused by bird flu.

The procurement price of milk rose by 14%.

In January–February 2017 compared to the same period of the previous year:

Agricultural producer prices lessened by 2.7%. Within this, the prices of crop products were cut by 8.2% and those of live animals and animal products rose by 8.1%.

Vegetables prices were down by 3.7% and fruits prices by 4.6%, the price index of the latter product group being determined by the price of apple, which fell by 5.6%.

The price of pigs for slaughter increased by 20%.

Milk prices rose by 16%.
