Industrial producer prices rise slightly by 0.1%

Industrial producer prices as a whole were just 0.1% higher in June 2019 than in the same period of the previous year. Changes in prices were influenced by wage growth, forint exchange rate changes and world petroleum market price trends. Domestic output prices increased by 3.0% on average, within which the prices of manufacturing, representing a weight of 67%, and the prices of energy industry (electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply), with a weight of 28%, both rose by 2.8% compared to a year earlier. Non-domestic output prices decreased by 1.2% compared to June of the previous year.

In June 2019 compared to June 2018:

Industrial domestic output prices were up by 3.0%. Prices in Hungary increased by 2.2% in energy and intermediate producer branches, by 3.5% in capital goods producer and by 5.3% in consumer goods producer branches out of the end-use groups of the producer branches of industry.

Industrial non-domestic output prices decreased by 1.2%, within which prices declined by 0.5% in manufacturing, representing a weight of 96%, and – owing to annual price changes in the international electricity market – by 16% in energy industry, with a weight of 4.1%.

In January–June 2019 compared to January–June 2018:

Domestic output prices went up by 5.2% and non-domestic output prices by 1.5%, so industrial producer prices as a whole were 2.7% higher.
