Industrial production increased by 1.8%

The volume of industrial production grew in February 2024 by 1.8% year-on-year, and surpassed, based on working-day adjusted data, the one year earlier level by 1.4%. According to seasonally and working-day adjusted data, industrial output was 3.5% higher than in January 2024.

The majority of the manufacturing subsections contributed to the production growth. Out of the subsections having the largest weight the manufacture of transport equipment, as well as the manufacture of food products, beverages and tobacco products rose year-on-year, at the same time the manufacture of electrical equipment, as well as the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products declined.

In the first two months of the year production was 0.9% lower than in the same period of 2023.

Industrial output– according to seasonally and working-day adjusted indices – was 3.5% above the level of the previous month.
