Palace of Statistics – Main building of the Hungarian Central Statistical Office

Budapest is full of beautiful public buildings that reflect different architectural styles and fashions. The Hungarian Central Statistical Office, headquartered at Keleti Károly Street 5-7 in Budapest’s second district, stands out among them, as it is one of the few buildings still used for the purpose for which it was originally built in 1896 according to the plans of architect Győző Czigler. The east wing also houses the office’s library, one of Europe’s oldest and largest statistical libraries.
