Construction output volume increased by 18.5% in October
The volume of construction output was 18.5% higher in October 2018 than a year earlier based on raw data. Output increased in both main groups of construction: in the construction of buildings by 15.7% and in civil engineering works by 21.9%. Based on seasonally and working day adjusted indices construction output increased by 0.5% compared to the previous month.
In October 2018, compared to the same month of the previous year:
The volume of output increased in both main groups of construction: in the construction of buildings by 15.7% and in civil engineering works by 21.9%. In the construction of buildings the increase was due to industrial, commercial and dwelling constructions; in civil engineering projects road, railway and utility constructions continued to generate the growth.
Out of the divisions of construction, output increased by 24.5% in the construction of buildings, by 28.8% in civil engineering, and in specialised construction activities by 7.8%.
The volume of new contracts increased by 11.4%, within this the volume of new contracts concluded in the construction of buildings went up by 32.7%, in the construction of civil engineering works the volume decreased by 4.5% year-on-year. In October contracts of high value were singed for industrial and medical care bildings as well as for road and railway constructions.
The volume of the October month-end stock of contracts at construction enterprises increased by 40.3% year-on-year. The volume of the stock of contracts increased by 1.7% for the construction of buildings and by 53.0% for the construction of civil engineering works compared to the October 2017 data.
In January-October 2018 compared to the same period of the previous year:
Construction production rose by 22.2%.
