Construction output volume increased by 20.5% in October
The volume of construction output, based on raw data was 20.5% higher in October 2019 than a year earlier. The volume of output increased in both main groups of construction: in the construction of buildings by 18.8% and in civil engineering works by 22.3%. Based on seasonally and working day adjusted indices, construction output increased by 3.2% compared to the September data.
In October 2019, compared to the same month of the previous year:
The volume of output increased in both main groups of construction: in the construction of buildings by 18.8% and in civil engineering works by 22.3%. In the construction of buildings the increase was due to residential, cultural and industrial buildings; in civil engineering projects, road and railway constructions generated the growth.
Out of the divisions of construction, output volume increased by 4.2% in the construction of buildings, by 24.9% in civil engineering. Specialised construction activities increased by 28.5%.
The volume of new contracts grew by 2.7%, within this the volume of new contracts concluded in the construction of buildings went down by 2.8%, in the construction of civil engineering works the volume grew by 8.5% year-on-year.
The volume of the October month-end stock of contracts at construction enterprises decreased by 10.1% compared to the October 2018 data. The stock of contracts volume increased by 40.6% for the construction of buildings and decreased by 21.7% for the construction of civil engineering works.
In the first ten months of the year, compared to the same period of the previous year:
The volume of output of construction grew by 27.0%.
