Construction output volume decreased by 7.2% in one year, and by 7.3% compared to the previous month
The volume of construction output in April 2021, based on raw data, was below the previous year’s level by 7.2%. Output decreased in both main groups of construction: in the construction of buildings by 0.8%, in civil engineering by 14.5%. Based on seasonally and working day adjusted indices construction output fell by 7.3% compared to the March data.
In April 2021, compared to the same month of the previous year:
Output decreased in both main groups of construction: in the construction of buildings by 0.8% and in civil engineering by 14.5%.
Out of the three divisions of construction, output volume fell by 6.2% in the construction of buildings, and by 26,1% in civil engineering. Production increased by 7.8% in specialised construction activities.
The volume of new contracts concluded decreased by 15.3%, within it the volume of new contracts for the construction of buildings fell by 21.0%, the volume regarding civil engineering works went down by 9.9% in relation to the April 2020 base.
The volume of the April end-of –month stock of contracts at construction enterprises was 12.8% above the end of April 2020 level. The volume of contracts increased by 22.9% for the construction of buildings and by 6.7% for civil engineering works compared to the previous year.
In the first four months of 2021, compared to the same period of the previous year:
Construction output lessened by 3.5%.
