The number of employed persons was 109 thousand more, at 4 million 684 thousand. While the number of people working in the primary labour market increased by 100 thousand and the number of members of households in Hungary working abroad grew by 14 thousand, the number of public workers decreased minimally, by 5 thousand.
Among the 15–64 age group, 4 million 580 thousand people were classified as employed, with an employment rate of 74.1%. The number of employed men grew by 27 thousand to 2 million 427 thousand, their employment rate increased by 1.4 percentage points to 78.6%. For women, employment increased by 69 thousand to 2 million 153 thousand and their employment rate rose by 2.7 percentage points to 69.7%.

In the young age group (15–24), the number of employed persons was 268 thousand, and their employment rate decreased by 0.3 percentage points to 27.2%. The employment rate increased by 2.3 percentage points to 88.1% for the so-called prime working age population (25–54 years) and by 3.3 percentage points to 64.8% for the older age group (55–64 years).
