Industrial production increased by 1.5%

In June 2022 the volume of industrial production grew by 1.5% year-on-year. Based on working-day adjusted data production rose by 4.8%. Decreases were recorded in the majority of the manufacturing subsections, at the same time the volume of production grew in the largest weight representing subsections, at the highest rate in the manufacture of electrical equipment. According to seasonally and working-day adjusted data industrial output was 0.6% higher than in May 2022.

In June 2022:

The volume of industrial production rose by 1.5% compared to the same period of the previous year. (Compared to the June data published in the first estimate, the data in the second estimate did not change.)

Industrial output in June – according to seasonally and working-day adjusted indices – was 0.6% above the level of the previous month.

The volume of industrial export was 2.7% higher than a year earlier. Transport equipment export, representing a 29% weight within export sales in manufacturing grew by 0.2%, the export in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products accounting for a 14% weight, increased by 11.7%.

Industrial domestic sales rose by 7.1%, domestic sales in manufacturing were 1.7% higher compared to the same month of the previous year.

Within industry, manufacturing output, which accounts for a decisive share in industry (96%), grew by 0.8%, energy industry (electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply) increased by 2.9%, mining and quarrying having a small weight, rose by 6.1% compared to June 2021.

The largest weight carrying manufacture of transport equipment representing 23% of manufacturing was 2.9% higher year-on-year. The volume of motor vehicles manufacturing declined by 3.8%, in turn the manufacture of parts and accessories for motor vehicles grew by 8.7%.

The manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products accounting for 10% of manufacturing increased by 4.9% compared to the same month of the previous year. Out of the two largest groups the manufacture of electronic components and boards dropped by 7.4%, while the manufacture of consumer electronics rose by 1.2%.

The manufacture of food products, beverages and tobacco products having a 12% share in manufacturing grew by 9.3%, due to an increase in both domestic and export sales. The processing and preserving meat and the production of meat products representing the largest weight (21%) fell by 7.1% year-on-year. Above this output declined in two more groups: the manufacture of grain mill products, starches and starch products decreased by 1.3%, the manufacture of tobacco products dropped by 15.9%. The production rose between 5.3 and 43% in the other groups, the manufacture of vegetable and animal oils and fats went up the most.

As in the previous month, the manufacture of electrical equipment having a medium weight grew at the highest rate, by 17.3%, Out of the two most significant weight carrying groups the manufacture of batteries and accumulators went up by 39%, the manufacture of electric motors, generators increased by 16.9%.

Out of the other two medium-weight representing subsections the manufacture of rubber and plastics products, and other non-metallic mineral products declined by 3.6%, the manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products fell by 6.2% year-on-year.

Decreases continued in the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products (by 7.1%), as well as in that of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations (by 8.4%), the manufacture of coke, and refined petroleum products dropped at the highest rate of 12.6% compared to high base of the previous year.
