In June 2021, full-time employees’ average gross earnings were HUF 436,300, average net earnings without tax benefits reached HUF 290,200; both were 3.5% higher than a year earlier. The relatively moderate rate of increase of average earnings compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was owing to the base effect, since a one-time bonus was provided to health care workers in June 2020. Regular average gross earnings (without premiums and one-month bonuses) were HUF 404,200, 7.7% higher than a year before. In January–June 2021, average gross earnings reached HUF 428,200, average net earnings were HUF 284,800, both rising by 8.4% compared to the same period of the previous year.
