Moderated natural decrease in November and notably more marriages

In the first eleven months of 2019 the number of births was 1.5% and that of deaths was 0.8% less compared to the corresponding period of 2018 according to preliminary data. In November 2019 the number of live births declined by 0.7% and that of deaths by 6.7% compared to the same month of the base period. As a result of a greater fall in deaths, the natural decrease of 2,472 people in November was 21% lower than a year earlier.

9,729 people lost their lives, which was 700 deceased fewer or 6.7% less than a year earlier.

The most significant decline of 14% was recorded in March, and besides, in November notably fewer people died (6.7% less), too.

Owing to a greater decrease in the number of live births than deaths, the natural decrease was 36,623 people as opposed to 36,282 people in the first eleven months of 2018, which meant a growth of 0.9%.
