7,040 children born and 10,220 people lose their lives in November

In November 2022, 7,040 children were born and 10,220 people died according to preliminary data. In the last twelve months, i.e. between December 2021 and November 2022, the number of births diminished by 5.2%, that of deaths by 11% and the number of marriages by 7.6% compared to the period one year earlier.

In November 2022:

A total of 7,040 children were born, 11% less or 878 fewer than a year earlier.

10,220 people lost their lives, 35% less or 5,524 fewer than in November 2021. The reason for the significant decrease was the high base value in the fourth wave of the coronavirus epidemic in November last year. 1.3% or 133 more people died compared to the corresponding period of 2019, the last year before the epidemic.

The natural decrease was 3,180, as opposed to 7,826 in November 2021.

3,177 couples got married, which was 18% less or 686 fewer than in November 2021.

Between December 2021 and November 2022:

88,118 children were born, 5.2% less or 4,794 fewer than in the previous twelve months. 5.7% less children were born in January–November this year, within which the number of births went down by 11% in January–April and by 8.4% in August–November and increased by 4.1% in May–July compared to the same period of 2021.

The total fertility rate was estimated at 1.52 per female, compared to 1.58 calculated for the previous twelve months.

There were 139,324 deaths, 11% less or 16,969 fewer than in the previous twelve months. The number of deaths fell by 12% in January–November this year, within which diminishing by 4.4% in January, by 21% in March–June and by 16% in September–November and growing by 4.9% in February and by 6.1% in July–August compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

The number of births went down to a lower extent than that of deaths, as a result of which the natural decrease was 51,206, which was 19% lower than the value of 63,381 for the previous twelve months.

65,573 couples got married, 7.6% less or 5,411 fewer than in the previous twelve months. The number of marriages decreased by 9.5% in January–November this year, within which 10% less marriages were registered in January–April and 11% less in June–November and 3.6% more in May than in the same months of 2021.

There were 9.1 live births and 14.4 deaths per thousand population. The rate of live births was 0.5 per mille point and that of deaths 1.7 per mille points lower than in December 2020–November 2021, as a result of which the rate of natural decrease lessened by 1.2 per mille points to 5.3 per mille. The number of infant deaths was 3.6 per thousand live births, which was 0.3 per mille point larger than in the previous twelve months. The marriage rate was 6.8 per mille, 0.5 per mille point lower than in the period a year earlier.
