Construction output volume lessened by 0.5% year-on-year, and increased by 5.3% compared to the previous month
Construction output volume, based on raw data, lagged behind the previous year’s level by 0.5% in April 2025. Among the main construction groups the construction of buildings lessened by 5.7%, that of civil engineering grew by 6.5%. Based on seasonally and working day adjusted indices construction output was above the March 2025 level by 5.3%.
In April 2025 compared to the same month of the previous year:
Output in the two main groups of construction changed in opposite directions: the onstruction of buildings lessened by 5.7%, that of civil engineering grew by 6.5%.
Among the divisions of construction, production volume decreased by 5.3% in the construction of buildings, and by increased by1.0% in civil engineering. Production in specialised construction activities, having the largest weight in construction, went up by 2.3%.
The volume of new contracts concluded went down by 12.7%, year-on-year, compared to the high base of the previous year; within it the volume of contracts for the construction of buildings fell by 14.3%, those for civil engineering works decreased by 10.9%.
The volume of the end-of-April stock of contracts at construction enterprises was 7.3% higher than one year earlier, within it the volume of contracts for the construction of buildings was down by 8.4% and grew by 20.9% for civil engineering works compared to April 2024.
In the first four months of 2025 compared to the same period of the previous year:
Construction output volume decreased by 4.3% .
