Consumer prices 4.3% higher on average than in same month of previous year

Consumer prices were 4.3% higher on average in October 2025 than a year earlier. Compared to September, prices were unchanged on average.

In 12 months, compared to October 2024:

A price increase of 3.9% (1.7% excluding food and beverage serving services) was recorded for food, within which 20.2% for eggs, 16.1% for chocolate and cocoa, 14.8% for coffee, 12.8% for other confectionery products, 10.3% for buffet products, 9.0% for fruit and vegetable juices, 7.7% for meals at schools, 7.2% for non-alcoholic beverages, 6.5% for rolls, 5.3% for edible oil and 3.1% for poultry meat. Within the product group, the price of margarine lessened by 27.8%, that of flour by 14.8%, milk product prices by 10.2%, the price of milk by 8.9%, that of sugar by 8.8%, other meat preparation prices by 6.6% and the price of pork by 5.8%. An average 10.7% more was to be paid for electricity, gas and other fuels, within which natural and manufactured gas became 23.7% and electricity 2.1% more expensive. Alcoholic beverage and tobacco prices rose by 7.5%, within which the price of tobacco by 8.7%. Services became 6.7%, within which recreational services 13.2%, the repairs and maintenance of vehicles 10.1%, health services 9.7% and personal care services 9.4% more expensive, the price of repairs and maintenance of dwellings and rents both increased by 9.0% and other public entertainment tickets became 8.4% more expensive. Consumer durable prices were up by 2.4%, within which jewellery cost 22.2%, living and dining room furniture 4.4%, heating and cooking appliances 2.9% and new passenger cars 2.0% more for consumers. Motor fuel prices diminished by 2.2% and pharmaceutical products became 5.9% more expensive.

In one month, compared to September 2025:

Consumer prices were unchanged on average. Food prices lessened by 0.1% (by 0.4% excluding food and beverage serving services), dominantly owing to a 2.1% decrease in the price of seasonal food items. The price of other confectionery products was reduced by 2.5%, that of sugar by 1.1%, fruit and vegetable juice prices by 1.1%, the price of pork by 1.0% and that of butter by 0.7%, while egg prices increased by 3.3%, the price of rolls by 1.6% and that of margarine by 0.5%. Owing to seasonal changes, the highest price rise of 2.3% was observed for clothing and footwear. Electricity, gas and other fuel prices were unchanged on average, within which 0.1% more was to be paid for natural and manufactured gas and 0.4% less for butane and propane gas (Press release). Service prices diminished by 0.1% on average, within which the price of recreational services went down by 0.9%. Motor fuel prices lessened by 1.1% and the price of pharmaceutical products by 0.1%.
