Consumer prices 1.7% higher on average than in same month of previous year
Consumer prices were 1.7% higher on average in June 2026 than a year earlier. On average, prices remained unchanged compared to May.
In 12 months, compared to June 2025:
Food prices increased by 0.2% (and decreased by 2.4% excluding food and beverage serving services), within which potato prices rose by 7.6%, the prices of buffet products and cup of coffee in catering by 6.5% each, candies and honey by 6.0%, meals at canteens by subscription by 5.9%, and meals at restaurants by 5.6%. Within the product group, the price of canned meat lessened by 26.9%, butter by 12.9%, pork by 10.9%, cheese by 9.1%, milk by 7.7%, preserved meals without meat by 7.3% and pasta products by 6.7%. Services became 4.0% more expensive, within which the transport of goods cost 18.6%, theatre tickets 17.6%, recreation abroad 11.7%, postal services 9.6%, the repairs and maintenance of vehicles 8.0%, personal care services 7.3%, other public entertainment tickets 6.8%, healthcare services 6.3% and recreation in the country 4.2% more. Alcoholic beverage and tobacco prices rose by 3.1%, within which tobacco prices increased by 3.8%. Prices for electricity, gas and other fuels were 2.3% lower, within which natural and manufactured gas cost 7.5% less, while electricity cost 2.3% more. Consumer durable prices were up by 1.9%, within which jewellery cost 26.4%, kitchen and other furniture 5.1%, living and dining room furniture 3.5% and second-hand passenger cars 2.6% more for consumers, while motorcycle prices stagnated. Pharmaceutical products became 2.5% and motor fuels 1.6% more expensive.
In one month, compared to May 2026:
Consumer prices stagnated on average. Food prices decreased by 0.2% on average (and by 0.5% excluding food and beverage serving services), within which the prices of fresh domestic and tropical fruits increased by 4.1%, fish by 1.4%, canned fish and pasta products by 1.3% each, preserved and frozen fruit by 0.8%, chocolate, cocoa by 0.7%, while the prices of fresh vegetables decreased by 8.1%, eggs by 2.4%, butter by 2.0%, potatoes by 1.8%, sugar by 1.5%, rolls by 1.2% for consumers. Service prices rose by 0.3% on average, within which the transport of goods cost 3.2% more, recreation in the country 2.3% more, other public entertainment 1.1% more, and recreation abroad 0.6% more, while other travels cost 4.3% less for consumers. Electricity, gas and other fuel prices were up by 0.4%, within which the price of natural and manufactured gas increased by 1.0%, while that of electricity and purchased heat stagnated (Press release). Alcoholic beverage and tobacco prices diminished by 0.1%, within which the price of tobacco went up by 0.1% and that of alcoholic beverages decreased by 0.5%. Motor fuel prices stagnated, while clothing and footwear cost 0.4% more for consumers.
