Industrial production lessened by 0.4% year-on-year and increased by 2.3% compared to the previous month
The volume of industrial production declined by 0.4%, while based on working-day adjusted data, production grew by 5.4%, year-on-year in May 2026. Compared to crude data, the significant difference is due to the fact that there were two less working-days in this month than in May 2025. According to seasonally and working-day adjusted data, industrial output was 2.3% higher than in April 2026.
Production volume decreased in the great majority of the manufacturing subsections compared to the same month of the previous year. Out of the subsections having the largest weight the manufacture of transport equipment, as well as the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products grew, at the same time a decline occurred in the manufacture of electrical equipment, as well as in the manufacture of food products, beverages and tobacco products.
In the first five months of the year industrial production was 0.7% higher than in the same period of 2025.
Industrial output – according to seasonally and working-day adjusted indices – was 2.3% above the level of the previous month.
