The revision of earnings statistics
Average gross earnings at HUF 708,300, 9.8% higher than a year earlier
Full-time employees’ average gross earnings were HUF 708,300 and average net earnings reached HUF 486,500 in April 2025. Average gross earnings grew by 9.8%, net earnings increased by 9.6% and real earnings were 5.2% higher than a year earlier. Median gross earnings were HUF 564,800, and median net earnings were HUF 392,700, both surpassing the value for the same period of the previous year by 10.2%.
April 2025:
Full-time employees’ average gross earnings were HUF 708,300, which was 9.8% higher than a year earlier.
Average net earnings reached HUF 486,500, being 9.6% higher than in April 2024.
Regular average gross earnings (without premiums and one-month bonuses) were estimated at HUF 657,800, being 10.3% higher than in the same period of the previous year. The regular average gross earnings amounted to HUF 654,600 in the business sector, HUF 656,000 in the budgetary sector and HUF 692,900 in the non-profit sector, rising by 10.7%, 8.4% and 11.8%, respectively, over a year.
Real earnings were up by 5.2%, along with a 4.2% increase in consumer prices compared to the same period of the previous year.
Median gross earnings were HUF 564,800, being 10.2% above the level a year earlier.
Median net earnings reached HUF 392,700, surpassing the value for the same period of the previous year by 10.2%.
January-April 2025:
Full-time employees’ average gross earnings amounted to HUF 687,400, and average net earnings were HUF 472,300.
Average gross earnings increased by 9.4% and average net earnings by 9.2% compared to the same period of the previous year.
