The revision of earnings statistics
Average gross earnings at HUF 702,800, 7.8% higher than a year earlier
Full-time employees’ average gross earnings were HUF 702,800 and average net earnings reached HUF 483,000 in May 2025. Average gross earnings grew by 7.8%, net earnings increased by 7.7% and real earnings were 3.2% higher than a year earlier. Median gross earnings were HUF 562,300, and median net earnings were HUF 391,200, surpassing the value for the same period of the previous year by 7.9% and 8.2%, respectively.
May 2025:
Full-time employees’ average gross earnings were HUF 702,800, which was 7.8% higher than a year earlier.
Average net earnings reached HUF 483,000, being 7.7% higher than in May 2024.
Regular average gross earnings (without premiums and one-month bonuses) were estimated at HUF 660,000, being 8.6% higher than in the same period of the previous year. The regular average gross earnings amounted to HUF 657,700 in the business sector, HUF 656,400 in the budgetary sector and HUF 691,800 in the non-profit sector, increasing by 8.1%, 9.8% and 9.1%, respectively over a year.
Real earnings were up by 3.2%, along with a 4.4% increase in consumer prices compared to the same period of the previous year.
Median gross earnings were HUF 562,300, being 7.9% above the level a year earlier.
Median net earnings reached HUF 391,200, surpassing the value for the same period of the previous year by 8.2%.
January-May 2025:
Full-time employees’ average gross earnings amounted to HUF 690,500, and average net earnings were HUF 474,500.
Average gross earnings increased by 9.0% and average net earnings by 8.9% compared to the same period of the previous year.
