Average gross earnings at HUF 687,100, 9.5% higher than a year earlier
Full-time employees’ average gross earnings were HUF 687,100 and average net earnings reached HUF 475,100 in September 2025. Average gross earnings grew by 9.5%, net earnings increased by 10.0% and real earnings were 5.5% higher than a year earlier. The increase in net average earnings exceeded the growth in the gross average earnings due to the higher amount of fam ily tax benefit introduced as of 1 July 2025. Median gross earnings were HUF 568,700, and median net earnings were HUF 397,400, surpassing the value for the same period of the previous year by 10.4% and 11.1%, respectively.
September 2025:
Full-time employees’ average gross earnings were HUF 687,100, which was 9.5% higher than a year earlier.
Average net earnings reached HUF 475,100, being 10.0% higher than in September 2024. The growth in the net earnings was considerably affected by the higher amount of family tax benefit introduced as of 1 July 2025.
Regular average gross earnings (without premiums and one-month bonuses) were estimated at HUF 660,400, being 9.3% higher than in the same period of the previous year. The regular average gross earnings amounted to HUF 656,300 in the business sector, HUF 664,200 in the budgetary sector and HUF 689,200 in the non-profit sector, increasing by 8.6%, 11.2% and 10.2%, respectively, over a year.
Real earnings were up by 5.5%, along with a 4.3% increase in consumer prices compared to the same period of the previous year.
Median gross earnings were HUF 568,700, being 10.4% above the level a year earlier.
Median net earnings reached HUF 397,400, surpassing the value for the same period of the previous year by 11.1%.
January-September 2025:
Full-time employees’ average gross earnings amounted to HUF 691,200, and average net earnings were HUF 476,000.
Average gross earnings increased by 9.1%, while net earnings increased by 9.2% compared to the same period of the previous year.
