Industrial producer prices lessen by 2.0% in April 2024 compared to a year earlier and by 0.9% compared to previous month

Industrial producer prices were 2.0% lower on average in April 2024 compared to one year earlier. Domestic output prices lessened by 5.0% and non-domestic output prices by 0.4%. Compared to the previous month, domestic output prices were cut by 0.3% and non-domestic output prices by 1.2%, so industrial producer prices as a whole were 0.9% lower.

In April 2024 compared to April 2023:

Domestic output prices decreased by 5.0% on average, within which they were up by 0.4% in manufacturing, representing a weight of 60.0%, and dropped by 15.3% in the energy industry (electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply), with a weight of 38.6%. Food industry output prices were 5.9% lower.

Prices in Hungary fell by 7.6% in energy and intermediate producer branches together, and rose by 5.3% in capital goods producer and lessened by 1.2% in consumer goods producer branches out of the end-use groups of the producer branches of industry.

Industrial non-domestic output prices were 0.4% lower, within which the prices were up by 4.0% in manufacturing, representing a weight of 82.9%, and decreased by 26.4% in the energy industry, with a weight of 16.7%.

In January–April 2024 compared to January–April 2023:

Domestic output prices lessened by 5.9% and non-domestic output prices by 3.0%, so industrial producer prices as a whole were 4.0% lower.
