Industrial producer prices 3.4% lower on average in December 2025 than a year earlier and realised on a 0.4% lower level compared to previous month

Industrial producer prices were 3.4% lower on average in December 2025 than one year earlier. Domestic output prices were cut by 1.9% and non-domestic ones by 4.1% compared to December in the previous year. Compared to the November level, domestic output prices lessened by 0.1% and non-domestic output prices by 0.5%, so industrial producer prices as a whole were 0.4% lower. In 2025, domestic output prices rose by 2.3% and non-domestic output prices by 5.0%, so industrial producer prices together were 4.1% higher than in 2024.

In December 2025 compared to December 2024:

Domestic output prices decreased by 1.9% on average, within which the prices lessened by 2.6% in manufacturing, representing a weight of 62.7%, and by 0.8% in the energy industry (electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply), with a weight of 35.4%. Food industry output prices were up by 2.4%.

Prices in Hungary diminished by 3.0% in energy and intermediate producer branches together and by 2.0% in capital goods producer branches and rose by 2.6% in consumer goods producer branches out of the end-use groups of the producer branches of industry.

Industrial non-domestic output prices were cut by 4.1%, within which the prices fell by 3.6% in manufacturing, representing a weight of 91.8%, and by 11.1% in the energy industry, with a weight of 8.0%.

In 2025 compared to previous year:

Industrial producer prices as a whole were 4.1% higher. Domestic output prices rose by 2.3% on average, within which manufacturing prices increased by 2.5% and energy industry prices by 1.7%.

Industrial domestic output prices were up by 1.4% in energy and intermediate producer branches, by 3.0% in capital goods producer and by 5.1% in consumer goods producer branches out of the end-use groups of the producer branches of industry.

Industrial non-domestic output prices grew by 5.0%, within which the prices were 2.4% higher in manufacturing and an average 11.7% higher in the energy industry, representing a small weight.
