Information on Data Processing of abstracts, papers and presentations for the European Conference on Quality in Official Statistics
With reference to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation, hereinafter referred to as: GDPR), the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (hereinafter referred to as HCSO) issues the following information for data subjects (natural persons).
1. Legal basis of processing:
The legal basis of processing according to point (a) of Article 6(1) of the GDPR is the consent given by the submission of abstract(s), paper(s) and presentation(s) of the data subject to the European Conference on Quality in Official Statistics.
The European Conference on Quality in Official Statistics is held bi-annually with the aim of sharing information on developments regarding the quality of statistics. The 10th European Conference on Quality in Official Statistics will include training courses on the first day and two and a half conference days.
2. Aim of processing:
The aim of handling the name, position, organization, country, email address of the author(s), the title, key words and the text of the submitted abstracts and papers is to develop the programme of the conference and give information about it to the participants of the conference, as well as to the general public.
3. Data Controllers:
The data controllers are the organisational units of the HCSO involved in the organisation of the conference, organisational units of Eurostat involved in the organisation of the conference and members of the Programme Committee.
4. Data subjects and scope of the data:
Data subjects are those who have submitted an abstract and in case of acceptance of the abstract, a paper and/or presentation.
Scope of data:
- Author(s) and presenter: name, organization, position in the organization, country and email address.
- Abstract: title, key words, text.
- Paper: title, text.
- Presentation: title, text.
5. Data transmission:
For organisational units of Eurostat involved in the organisation of the conference and for members of the Programme Committee.
6. Duration of processing:
Published on the conference website (the website will be available for 20 years):
Author(s) and presenter: name, organization, position in the organization, country: 20 years from the end of the conference
Abstract: 20 years
Papers: 20 years
Presentations: 20 years
7. Rights and redress
The data subject can request:
- information on data processing concerning his/her data;
- access to his/her personal data (in electronic way or in a form of copy);
- the rectification of inaccurate personal data or the correction of incomplete personal data;
- to erase his/her personal data or to restrict the processing of his/her data if the necessary conditions exist;
- the data subject can protest against the handling of his/her personal data
In the case of violating the rights of the data subject, he/she can

- turn to a court (Fővárosi Törvényszék, H-1055 Budapest, Markó utca 27., fovarositorvenyszek.birosag.hu/english); or
- initiate an investigation by the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (H-1125 Budapest, Szilágyi Erzsébet fasor 22/C, ugyfelszolgalat@naih.hu) or other national authority for data protection of Member States.
