Information on Data Processing of registration and participation for the European Conference on Quality in Official Statistics
With reference to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation, hereinafter referred to as: GDPR), the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (hereinafter referred to as HCSO) issues the following information for data subjects (natural persons).
1. Legal basis of processing:
The legal basis of processing according to point (a) of Article 6(1) of the GDPR is the consent given by registration of the data subject to the European Conference on Quality in Official Statistics.
The European Conference on Quality in Official Statistics is held bi-annually with the aim of sharing information on developments regarding the quality of statistics. The 10th European Conference on Quality in Official Statistics will include training courses on the first day and two and a half conference days.
2. Aim of processing:
The aim of handling general and contact information is to identify participants when entering the event and to record and verify certified attendance. Billing information is needed in order to facilitate the payment for participation at the conference. Photographs, audio and video recordings are intended to inform the public about the conference.
3. Data Controllers:
The data controllers are the organisational units of the HCSO involved in the organisation of the conference and organisational units of Eurostat involved in the organisation of the conference.
Photos, audio and video recordings taken during the conference will be publicly available.
4. Data subjects and scope of the data:
Data subjects are those individuals who registered on the website of the conference, as well as the participants of the conference who registered on the website.
Scope of data:
- general information: attendant’s title, name, name of the organization, position in organization
- contact information: address, e-mail address
- number of accompanying persons
- billing information: address
- information regarding participation in official and social programmes
- photographs, audio-, videorecords
During the four day event, certain moments may be photographed and recorded. These photos and video recordings will be used for public display on the official website of the event. By registering to the conference you agree to possibly appearing on photographs, audio- and videorecords published on the website of the conference and on the accounts of the conference on social media platforms.
5. Data transmission:
For Eurostat or any organization authorized by Hungarian law.
6. Duration of processing:
General information: 2 years from the end of the conference
Contact information: 2 years from the end of the conference
Billing information: 8 years from the end of the conference
Information on participation in official and social programmes: 2 years from the end of the conference
Photo, audio, video: public on the website (the website will be available for 20 years after the conference)
7. Rights and redress
The data subject can request:
- information on data processing concerning his/her data;
- access to his/her personal data (electronically or in the form of a copy);
- the rectification of inaccurate personal data or the correction of incomplete personal data;
- to erase his/her personal data or to restrict the processing of his/her data if the necessary conditions exist;
- the data subject can protest against the handling of his/her personal data
In the case of violating the rights of the data subject, he/she can

- turn to a court (Fővárosi Törvényszék, H-1055 Budapest, Markó utca 27., fovarositorvenyszek.birosag.hu/english); or
- initiate an investigation by the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (H-1125 Budapest, Szilágyi Erzsébet fasor 22/C, ugyfelszolgalat@naih.hu) or other national authority for data protection of Member States.
