Innovation and active statistical co-operation within V4
– Visit to HCSO by Slovakian Vice President –
An official visit was made to HCSO on 28 May 2026 by Dr. Ľudmila Ivančíková, the Vice President of the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic, who was accompanied by her senior colleagues Martina Domok Vomelová and Dr. Rudolf Rössel. The delegation was welcomed by Deputy President Dr. Tamás Tóth. The focus of the negotiation was on innovation solutions, human resource challenges, as well as the possible applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in statistics.
The aim of the visit was to further strengthen the long-standing relation between the two statistical offices, to become more familiar with each other’s tested procedures and to map additional areas of possible co-operation, with a special regard to innovation and the application of artificial intelligence.
The members of the Slovakian delegation presented the legal regulation and the operational environment of AI in their own Office, as well as the challenges observed in the field of HR.
At the end of the meeting, Hungarian specialists – ensuring the continuity of fruitful co-operation within the region – handed on the current presidential tasks of the V4 group to the Slovakian counterpart office, guiding the next period.
