Motor fuel price statistics

Based on the latest data of the EU’s Weekly Oil Bulletin, the average price of 95-octane petrol was 639 forints in Hungary and 619 forints in countries in the region. The average price in Hungary was 3.2% or 20 forints higher than the average value in the region. In neighbouring countries, the average price was 633 forints, the price in Hungary being 0.9% or 6 forints higher than this. The weekly average price of diesel motor fuel was 628 forints in Hungary, which was 15 forints or 2.4% higher than the regional average price of 613 forints. In neighbouring countries, the average price of diesel was 627 forints, which the figure for Hungary surpassed by 0.2% or 1 forint.

The average price of 95 petrol in Hungary decreased by 9 forints compared to the previous week’s figure. In parallel, the regional average lessened, too, by 4 forints. In neighbouring countries, the average price of petrol went down by 5 forints.

Diesel motor fuel prices in Hungary as well as in countries in the region and in neighbouring countries

The average price of diesel oil in Hungary was lowered by 21 forints over a week. The regional average price also went down, though to a lower extent, by 9 forints. In neighbouring countries, the average price of diesel oil decreased by 11 forints compared to the previous week.

Compared to Hungary, the average price of petrol was higher in Austria, Serbia and Slovakia out of the countries in the region according to the latest data. The price of petrol was cut the most, by 17 forints in Slovakia. The price of petrol solely increased in Croatia in the region compared to data for the previous week, by 4 forints.

The average price of 95-octane petrol was less than 5% lower in Czechia, Croatia and Slovenia than the average price in Hungary. In Bulgaria, the average price of petrol continued to be more than 10% lower.

In the case of diesel oil, the weekly average prices in Austria, Croatia and Serbia were higher than the value in Hungary, however, the average price was over 10% lower in Bulgaria compared to the average price of diesel motor fuel in Hungary. The average price of diesel was reduced in all countries in the region compared to the previous week. The largest reduction of 21 forints was recorded for each of Austria and Hungary. By contrast, the average price lessened by merely 3 forints in Serbia.
