In April 2021, industrial producer prices rise by 9.8% compared to one year earlier and by 0.6% compared to previous month
Industrial producer prices were 9.8% higher on average in April 2021 than a year earlier. The rate of increase of prices was influenced by the weakening of the forint against the euro and by the price rise of raw and base materials. Domestic output prices were up by 11.8% and non-domestic output prices by 8.8%. Compared to the previous month, domestic output prices rose by 1.6%, non-domestic output prices by 0.1% and industrial producer prices as a whole by 0.6%.
In April 2021 compared to April 2020:
Domestic output prices were 11.8% higher on average, within which the price rise was 12.4% in manufacturing, representing a weight of 63%, and 10.8% in energy industry (electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply), with a weight of 31%.
Prices in Hungary went up by 15.7% in energy and intermediate producer branches together, by 3.7% in capital goods producer and by 2.7% in consumer goods producer branches out of the end-use groups of the producer branches of industry.
Industrial non-domestic output prices rose by 8.8%, within which the price increase was 6.4% in manufacturing, representing a weight of 95%, and – owing to a rise in world market prices, a weakening of the forint, and a fall of raw materials prices in the base period – 65.6% in energy industry, with a weight of 4.5%.
In January–April 2021 compared to January–April 2020:
Domestic output prices increased by 7.1%, non-domestic output prices by 9.2% and industrial producer prices as a whole by 8.5%.
