A total of 8.9 thousand students participate in PhD training, 8.0 thousand in tertiary vocational programmes, and nearly 500 students in postgraduate specialisation.

Regarding all work schedules, the number of foreign students has decreased to a small extent, by 400 to 38.1 thousand over the past year.

In 2020 a total of 67.5 thousand pupils passed the final examination at secondary level in full-time and adult education. The number of pupils having passed the vocational examination exceeded 49 thousand. As part of the Economy Protection Action Plan introduced in March, persons having passed the final examination by 31 August 2020 are exempted from the language examination requirements specified as a precondition for the issuance of the diploma. Thanks to this measure, until December 2020, more than 123 thousand former students were entitled to get their certificate, of which over 114 thousand persons have already received their diploma. Almost half of the diplomas issued up to present have been picked up by former students of 7 institutions (University of Debrecen [12 thousand persons], Szent István University [8 thousand persons], University of Pécs [8 thousand persons], Eötvös Loránd University [8 thousand persons], University of Szeged [7 thousand persons], Széchenyi István University [6 thousand persons] and University of Nyíregyháza [6 thousand persons].
