According to preliminary data, 6,696 children were born and 8,782 people died in July 2025. The number of births lessened by 2.0%, that of deaths by 18% and that of marriages by 11% compared to the same month of the previous year.
In July 2025:
A total of 6,696 children were born, 2.0% or 138 fewer than in July 2024.
8,782 people lost their lives, 18% or 1,972 fewer than a year earlier.
The natural decrease was 2,086, as opposed to 3,920 in July 2024.
4,324 couples got married, 11% or 536 less than a year earlier.
In January–July 2025:
41,686 children were born, 6.9% or 3,106 fewer than in the same period of the previous year. Within this, the number of live births was 4.2% lower in January, 8.6% lower in February–March, 12% lower in April–May and 2.1% lower in June–July than in the same periods of 2024.
The total fertility rate was estimated at 1.30 per female, compared with 1.37 a year earlier.
There were 73,692 deaths, 0.2% or 129 more than one year earlier. 7.8% more people died in January, 0.7% more in February, 7.2% more in March and 1.1% more in April–June, while 18% fewer people died in July than in the same months of the previous year.
Due to the balance of births and deaths, the natural decrease was 32,006, 11% more than the value of 28,771 for the same period of the previous year.
24,608 couples got married, 5.6% or 1,459 fewer than a year earlier. 4.4% less marriages were registered in January, 14% less in February, 3.9% less in March–April and 9.5% less in June–July, while 2.4% more marriages took place in May than in the corresponding months of 2024.
There were 7.5 live births and 13.3 deaths per thousand population. The rate of live births was 0.5 per mille points lower, while that of deaths 0.1 per mille points higher than in January–July 2024. The rate of natural decrease increased by 0.6 per mille points to 5.8 per mille. The number of infant deaths was 3.1 per thousand live births, which was 1.1 per mille points lower than in the same period of the previous year. The marriage rate was 4.4 per mille, 0.2 per mille points lower than a year earlier.
