According to preliminary data, 5,979 children were born and 10,333 people died in October 2025. The number of births lessened by 10%, that of deaths by 6.8%, while the number of marriages increased by 14% compared to the same month of the previous year.
In October 2025:
A total of 5,979 children were born, 10% or 686 fewer than in October 2024.
10,333 people lost their lives, 6.8% or 756 fewer than a year earlier.
The natural decrease was 4,354, as opposed to 4,424 in October 2024.
4,149 couples got married, 14% or 516 more than a year earlier.
There were 7.4 live births and 12.8 deaths per thousand population. The rate of live births was 0.8 per mille points lower, while that of deaths 0.9 per mille points lower than in October 2024. The rate of natural decrease diminished by 0.1 per mille points to 5.4 per mille. The marriage rate was 5.1 per mille, 0.6 per mille points more than a year earlier.
In January–October 2025:
60,304 children were born, 7.1% or 4,630 fewer than in the same period of the previous year. Within this, the number of live births was 4.2% lower in January, 8.6% lower in February–March, 12% lower in April–May, 1.7% lower in June–July, and 7.8% lower in August–October than in the same periods of 2024.
The total fertility rate was estimated at 1.31 per female, compared with 1.39 a year earlier. There were 35.3 live births per thousand women aged 15–49 years 1.9 per mille points lower than a year earlier.
There were 102,748 deaths, 2.2% or 2,326 less than one year earlier. 7.8% more people died in January, 0.7% more in February, 7.3% more in March and 1.2% more in April–June, while 11% fewer people died in July–October than in the same months of the previous year.
Due to the balance of births and deaths, the natural decrease was 42,444, 5.7% more than the value of 40,140 for the same period of the previous year.
41,437 couples got married, 0.9% or 390 fewer than a year earlier. 9.8% less marriages were registered in January–February, 3.9% less in March–April and 7.8% less in June–August, while 2.4% more marriages took place in May and 16% more in September–October than in the same periods of 2024.
There were 7.6 live births and 13.0 deaths per thousand population. The rate of live births was 0.5 per mille points lower, while that of deaths 0.2 per mille points lower than in January–October 2024. The rate of natural decrease increased by 0.3 per mille points to 5.4 per mille. The number of infant deaths was 3.3 per thousand live births, which was 0.6 per mille points lower than in the same period of the previous year. The marriage rate was 5.2 per mille, almost the same than a year earlier.
