The Hungarian Central Statistical Office (HCSO) is terminating the e-shelf system simultaneously with the publication of the Hungary, 2024 volume. Yearbooks, data collections from the e-shelf may be downloaded by anyone for free from a new, user friendly platform, no registration is required.

The Hungarian Central Statistical Office is offering its publications free of charge in order to meet user demands and for a broad data- and information access. The Office started its e-shelf system more than ten years ago, in August 2013, replacing the previous CD-ROM based publications and appendixes.

New content is not added to the e-shelf system from 2025, previously purchased publications will be available up until 31 December 2026 for users. All registered users are notified about this change by the Office.

A new sub-page has been added to the HCSO website simultaneously with the termination of the e-shelf system, more than 400 yearbooks, pocketbooks and data collections, a total of a hundred thousand pdf format pages close to 150 thousand excel tables and several thousand static and interactive graphs and maps are available for download.

The sub-page offers the possibility of filtering these yearbooks, pocketbooks and data collections by reference year, serial name, format (PDF, XLS) and supplements (graphs, maps). Users may compile their own list of publications based on the year- and pocketbooks, data collections, adequate to their interests.

Our first releases are published on the website at 8:30 a.m. on dates pre-determined in a dissemination calendar. They typically contain business indicators, published monthly or quarterly, and the short analyses based on the latest available data are generally completed by a table set and a chart.

Upon request, the sending of the Excel/Word files of first releases to a given e-mail address – at the same time as the publication of the first release – can be ordered.
