In June 2025, rents of dwellings to let increased by 1.3% nationally and by 1.4% in Budapest compared to the previous month. June rents were 7.3% higher nationally and 6.7% higher in Budapest than a year earlier, and 123% and 112% higher than in the base period of 2015, respectively. The real rent index was 30% higher nationally and 23% higher in Budapest than the 2015 base year.

Rents increased in all the Budapest district categories surveyed. The increase in rents compared to the previous month was generally above 1%, except in the Buda hill districts (0.6%). The annual increase in rents was highest in the outer districts of Pest (12%) and lowest in the 'other districts' of Buda (5.1%). The increase was moderate in the transitional districts of Pest (5.4%), while the increase in the inner districts of Pest (7.1%) was slightly above the capital average.

In June 2025, the vast majority (93%) of the advertisements observed concerned flats in multi-dwelling buildings, with the remaining approximately 7% detached houses. In Budapest, only 3.2% of the dwellings for rent were detached houses. 43% of the advertisements taken into account nationally and 42% in the capital came from private individuals.
