Short description

The Hungarian Classification of Industrial Products (ITO) is a hierarchical classification containing products and services. ITO is the domestic version of PRODCOM list issued by Eurostat. ITO is used for observing industrial products and services.

Structure

Code numbers and descriptions of the items of classification

    The structure of the 12-digit codes:
  • 1-4th digits identical with the Statistical Classification of Economic Activities in the European Community (NACE Rev.2.)
  • 1-6th digits identical with the Classification of Products by Activity (CPA)
  • 1-8th digits corresponding to PRODCOM, in case of “HU” items codes are formed by HCSO
  • 9th digit is a possibility for further demolition in case of “HU” item codes, if 7th and 8th digits are reserved for PRODCOM codes
  • 10-12th digits indicate the unit of measurement

Explanatory notes

The explanatory notes determine the contents of the classification items. They help to find the appropriate category in the classification.

It supports the quick search in the classification. After searching by code number or text, it displays those items of the classification that contain the relevant code number or text.
