HCSO to publish motor fuel prices in countries in the region

In order to follow up motor fuel prices in the region and to ensure the comparability of the trends, the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (HCSO) will publish average motor fuel prices in countries in the region weekly – at 8.30 a.m. on Fridays - from 19 April 2024. The data will be available on the Office’s subpage presenting experimental statistics as well as on the HCSO Monitor interface.

Based on the latest data of the EU Weekly Oil Bulletin, the average price of the 95 octane petrol was 640 forints in Hungary and 620 forints in countries in the region. Out of the countries, the average price of petrol was higher in Austria, Serbia and Slovakia compared to the price in Hungary. The weekly average price of diesel fuel was 654 forints in Hungary, which was 31 forints higher than the regional average price of 623 forints. In the case of diesel fuel, it was the weekly average prices in Austria and Serbia that were higher than the value for Hungary.

The publication is available at: https://www.ksh.hu/s/en/experimental-statistics/publications/motor-fuel-price-statistics/

The charts were published, too, in the Prices section of the HCSO Monitor interface: https://www.ksh.hu/hcso-monitor/prices.html
