Yearbooks, pocketbooks, data repositories – Factsheet

The Hungarian Central Statistical Office has been providing digital annexes and supplements to its yearbooks and data repositories for more than twenty years. Previously, these were available on CD-ROM, and from 2013 they were available for sale online through the e-Shelf system.

The e-Shelf system has now been replaced by a new platform that makes the more than 400 yearbooks, pocketbooks and data repositories published by the HCSO over the last 20 years available to everyone free of charge. The database contains nearly 100 thousand pages of documents in PDF format, around 150 thousand Excel spreadsheets and thousands of static and interactive graphics and maps.

Previously published yearbooks reflect the state of technology at the time, so some elements may not work or may have limited functionality in current browsers or software, or may contain links to pages or documents that no longer exist.

Display and filter

Yearbooks, pocketbooks and data repositories can be displayed with large covers or in list view. Volumes can be grouped by reference year or series name.

Lists – both full and personal lists – can be filtered by reference year, series name, format (PDF, XLS) and additional content (graphs, maps, other).

My list

The My list function allows you to group together your most frequently used or relevant yearbooks, pocketbooks and data repositories for faster access. The compiled list is only available on the device on which it was created and is stored locally by the browser.

The current status of the compiled lists can be shared with others via a unique link, which can be retrieved from the My list page by using the Share button.

To add a yearbook to your own list, click on the “Add to my list” () button next to the yearbook.
