Censuses

A census is a regular, usually repeated every 10 years, full-scale status survey that covers the entire population of a country and applies to a predetermined date. The census is the largest collection of population data and aims to provide an accurate and detailed picture of the size, demographic characteristics, health, employment, living and housing conditions of the population of Hungary.

Useful information about the censuses and the results of the latest census are available on the Census 2022 page and on the Censuses thematic page.

Agricultural censuses – farm structure surveys

Agricultural censuses give a picture of agriculture and the changes in the sector in Hungary. The tables containing the results and major indicators of agricultural censuses are available on the Agricultural censuses page.

The tables containing long time series data were archived, and a large part of the data they covered were integrated in 2021 into Summary tables (STADAT) containing annual agricultural data.

European health interview survey time series (EHIS)

Health interview surveys to be conducted every five years allow us to monitor the changes in the health status of the population and reveal the correlations between health status and the background factors influencing that. Due to the users’ increased interest, we acquaint the general public with the results of the three most recent surveys in our now published table collection – following extensive data processing – in a comparable manner, classified in 11 themes, together with the methodology.

Key data from the supplementary population labour force survey

The Labour Force Survey is a population survey based on a quarterly sample. The survey also includes supplementary surveys, the main results of which (trade unions, strike events, groups with disabilities in the labour market, voluntary work, the situation of young people in the labour market, labour turnover in the labour market, self-employment) are presented in tables.
