Hungary takes over presidency of Visegrad Group (V4)

On July 1, 2025, Hungary took over the rotating presidency of the Visegrad Group (V4) under the motto "Competitive Visegrad." As part of this, the chief statisticians and leaders of the V4 countries – Hungary, Czechia, Poland, and Slovakia – met in Visegrád on September 8 and 9, 2025.

This historic venue provided a fitting setting for strengthening the annual professional program of cooperation between the agencies and for agreeing on a joint thematic publication. The expert-level consultations included in the work program will focus on current topics such as the use of AI in official statistics, mapping new procedures and approaches related to the consumer price index, and further promoting statistical education among the V4 countries. All of this will promote collective learning and mutual institutional development with a view to increasing the region's competitiveness at European level.
