The professional relationship between the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (HCSO) and the State Audit Office of Hungary (ÁSZ) continues to strengthen

Dr. László Windisch, President of the State Audit Office of Hungary and Dr. Áron Kincses, President of the Hungarian Central Statistical Office signed a cooperation framework agreement on 22 January 2026. According to the agreement, the HCSO will establish competence working groups related to emphasized divisional and professional topics, thereby supporting the professional and audit activities of the ÁSZ.

The fundamental goal of the agreement is creating a professional and technical framework for information exchange between the two organizations and developing a uniform, transparent methodology for future data transfers.

Part of the framework agreement is the creation of general rules and regulations to be applied in future specific agreements, and establishing the rules for maintaining relations between institutions.

Within the framework of the agreement competence working groups are going to be established among others in the fields of environmental protection, agriculture, healthcare, energy sector, public transportation, culture, education, social care and regional development. These working groups will provide expert support on issues related to HCSO data and will provide advisory services for ÁSZ.

The cooperation framework will provide opportunities for the two organizations to jointly organize professional events and conferences; employees, managers of these two organizations may reciprocally participate in the vocational and further trainings of the institutions.

At the signing event Dr. László Windisch, President of ÁSZ and Dr. Áron Kincses, President of the HCSO emphasized that further deepening and strengthening of the long-term relationship between the two institutions based on mutual trust and high-level professional partnership is the goal of the cooperation.
