HCSO publishes March motor fuel price statistics, 13/04/2026

Based on data in the Weekly Oil Bulletin, published by the EU, and on price caps introduced in Hungary and effective from 10 March 2026, the average price of 95-octane petrol was 592 forints and that of diesel motor fuel 617 forints in Hungary in the month of March. The price of petrol was 32 forints or 5.1% and that of diesel oil 57 forints or 8.5% lower on average in Hungary compared to the prices in neighbouring countries. In countries in the region, the average March price for petrol was 612 forints, the price in Hungary being 3.3% or 20 forints lower, and the regional average price for diesel equalled 670 forints, the average price in Hungary being 7.9% or 53 forints lower.
